What's Happening Wednesday......

Abundance is as done as I can get her....LOL

I decided to give Abundance dark hair instead of blond as the original design shows. Somehow it fitted the whole colour palette and image better......to me anyway.

I also did my own thing with her underskirt. Some of the fabrics I used had linings as they were from recycled garments. I took those scraps of lining and put then together at the front and then added the cheesecloth on the side and back.

I over dyed the yellow cheesecloth with orange  and it turned out perfect with a sort of mottled effect.  One of my more successful dying attempts:)  I also redyed the red and it came out much brighter and rustier.

My favourite thing was making the raven or crow or blackbird......whatever he is:)

That beady eye is watching you.......LOL

What next?

Well I'm am in the process of putting together my Princess so I can complete The Princess and The Pea.......

It doesn't look like much yet.

I'm also linking up today with The Needle & Thread Network....come on over and visit:)

Take care.

She turned out beautifully. The hair colour is a good choice with her clothes, I think.

The doll came up so beautiful! Well done, and it is even better that it is not exactly like the original one - you couldn't not to add your creative sparkle! Lovely doll once again!

I agree the dark hair was just the touch of contrast needed. Blond hair would have washed out against all that vibrant orange. Love Beady Eye!

Well if I made it around to blogs more often, I would see that you've already finished her and I didn't even know you had started!! So much for my comments. She's really lovely Mary Ann. I like that raven too. I have a Raven piece coming up in my head...that usually means it will be a few years from now before I actually make it. The Princess looks intriguing....I like her bed already...

MaryAnn, I finally found your blog! You always leave such nice comments on mine. Your Abundance is beautiful. I'm thinking of making her also but have so many other projects to finish first. I'm about where you are with the Princess and the Pea. Getting ready to cut out the doll parts. Your bed and colors are beautiful, can't wait to see your princess.

What an amazing piece of doll making. I am in awe. Yes, I think you made the right choice of dark hair against all the warm colours; it frames her lovely face.

Thank you for the close-up photo of the bird (Jackdaw? Rook?)and the amazing detail on her sleeves.I can see why you'd enjoy making him, he has real charm.

Thank you for your lovely comment on my blog. I'm really enjoying making these rabbit dolls.
